Chris Jeske

2009 Szymczak Peacemaking Fellow

For much of his life Jeske was oblivious to the racial dynamics in his hometown, Kirkwood, MO. A series of events starting when he was in high school encouraged him to learn more about racism. After giving a presentation on racism in one of his classes at Marquette University, he thought to make a documentary on the Kirkwood City Council shooting and race relations in Kirkwood. With no professional training or experience, this is his initial foray into film-making.

Jeske is a 2007 graduate of Kirkwood High School where he received the John Johnson Quiet Leadership Award. He graduates from Marquette University in 2011 with a degree in Information Technology, Marketing, and Africana Studies. He received the Pedro Arrupe Award while at Marquette University.
